Preamble

To adhere to the guidelines of Government of India and Following the directions issued by AICTE, the Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribes (ST) Caste Committee in the Institution is constituted to ensure the continued welfare of all the faculty members, staff and students belonging to reserved category. The committee has been established to support and to bring students from such communities in the main stream. The committee also acts as a redressal forum of the students and employees belonging to the SC/ST category for reaching out in case of any grievances that they may face and for rendering them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Committee is an initiative from the institute to nurture, protect and promotes the interests and opportunities available for the students in the reserved category. The cell may conduct regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development and making presentation. The cell also is expected to organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to share their personal, social and academic problems.

Objectives of the Committee

1. Be an entity that disseminates information related to SC/ST reservation, implemented in the institute as per Indian Government Policy.
2. Provide a platform for registering complaints, issues/grievances of SC/ST candidates.
3. To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in the University/Affiliate Colleges and plan measures for effective implementation of the policy and programme of the Government and UGC.
4. To guide the SC/ST students of the University, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Government, Government of India (GOI) and UGC.
5. To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.
6. To take necessary steps of measuring for ensuring effective implementation of the policy & programmes/schemes of the State and Central Govt. for SC-ST, if any.
7. Guide the SC/ST students of the Institute, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Governments, Government of India (GOI) and AICTE.
